Fresh Produce Supply Chain Management

Polygon is an internet-enabled management system for the fresh produce supply chain.
Growers, packing houses, inland depots, port terminals, stevedores, surface transportation companies, shipping companies, agents, exporters and importers find all the tools they need to track and trace their fresh produce pallets.

Polygon provides merchandise travel, storage history and an associated business profile for each supply chain participant.

Polygon is a powerful management system that generates on-line information for:
Growers: Pallet's orchard of origin.
Packing Houses: Production information and reports per grower, variety, count, class, type of package, etc.
Inland Depots: Merchandise receiving times and receiving conditions, inventory, physical location, storage conditions, stay time, shipping plans, etc.
Port Terminals: Merchandise receiving times and receiving conditions, inventory, location, storage conditions, stay time, shipping plans.
Stevedores: Stowage plans, mate receipts, loading crew yield.
Transportation Companies: Departure and arrival logs and estimated arrival times.
Shipping Companies: Over the internet real time loading information, electronic stowage plans.
Agents: Automated mate receipts and generation of export documents .
Exporters/Importers: On-line track and trace, on-line statistical analytical processing. Issuing of commercial documents.

Polygon consists of two modules:
Sermod and Opmod

SERMOD (Server Module)
Is an internet/intranet communications hub. A data base repository. An information handling and forwarding system. A statistics analysis module. It provides on-line cargo tracking/tracing and on-line analytical processing of data.

OPMOD (Operations Module)
Is a client/server module that handles all of the operations and information needs at each facility, namely:
Packing Houses: Berths, Stevedores
Inland Depots: Exporters/Importers
Port Terminals: Agents

OPMOD registers inventory movements, merchandise location inside a warehouse and merchandise status.
It generates the barcoded labels and documents to identify items and processes.
Each OPMOD is an independent facility operations system that does not depend on SERMOD for its operation. Nevertheless, the information sent by OPMOD to SERMOD allows the integration of the whole supply chain in a single consolidated system.
